Mrs. Laurie Sullivan

Mrs. Sullivan is excited about meeting her new students and seeing the faces of her returning students. She is starting her sixteenth year of teaching Special Education. This will be her fifth year teaching Life Skills at Voss Middle School and for Boerne ISD. She previously taught at Northside ISD and Jonesboro, AR. She also serves as the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) campus representative.

She was born and raised in Connecticut but left after high school, to join the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. While in the Navy, she was stationed on aircraft carriers, trained with the Marines, taught Emergency Medical Technician courses, CPR, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support classes to physicians and nurses. This is where she developed her love for teaching and sharing her knowledge with others. She loves being able to teach not only academic subjects, but functional and vocational skills too. Her ultimate goal is to build relationships with her students and their families while also encouraging independence in order to become productive citizens within the local community.

Mrs. Sullivan resides in Boerne with her husband of 27 years, Timothy, and their two daughters. Lauren is starting her sophomore year at Texas Tech University in Lubbock where she is majoring in Biology, while Olivia is starting her senior year at Boerne High School (college reveal coming in the near future). She is also a dog mom to three boys whom she adores. In her spare time, Mrs. Sullivan loves to shop, travel, read true crime books, watch game shows, explore new restaurants, relax at the beach, and spend time with friends and family. She hopes everyone has a wonderful 2023 - 2024 school year!! SOAR, Eagles SOAR
