Mr. John Lopez

John Lopez is excited about being a part of the ELAR team at Voss Middle School.  Mr. Lopez will be teaching 8th grade ELAR and 8th grade Honors ELAR. The 2023-2024 school year will be his third year at Voss Middle school after serving his first year as the Behavioral Assistant for BASE. Mr. Lopez attended The University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating with a BA in English and a Masters in Business. He served 5 years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman in Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. Lopez is married to his wife of 11 years, Liz, who is also a teacher. They have one daughter, Emma (8 months). They moved to San Antonio after exiting the Navy to be closer to their hometown of Corpus Christi. In his spare time, Mr. Lopez enjoys going to the movies, watching football, basketball, reading, and spending time with his family.
