Ms. Maricela Perez

 Maricela Perez will be entering her fouth year with Boerne ISD and she is very excited to be returning to Capt. Mark Tyler Voss Middle School team. She has taught for 20 plus years and has been very fortunate to have taught in elementary, middle and high school. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Reading from Southwest Texas State University(Texas State now).  

Ms. Perez knew from a very young age that she wanted to teach. In fact, it was her brother that inspired her to become a teacher. Ms. Perez' brother had difficulty with reading, but he was inquisitive. Her brother was the type of kiddo that would take mom's small kitchen appliances apart just to see how they functioned. It was then that she knew that her brother's learning style needed a different approach from traditional trends(books/lecture). In that moment, she knew teaching was her calling.

Since then, Ms. Perez knew that being an educator was her mission. She wants to ensure that students tackle obstacles by giving them the tools and knowledge to help them build the foundation that will create global thinkers, life-long learners, and productive citizens.
