Born and raised in San Antonio, TX, Mrs. Canales graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development (Elementary Education). Mrs. Canales began her teaching career with Northside ISD teaching 1st grade and then spent 7 years with the San Antonio ISD teaching Pre-Kindergarten. She has most recently been with Boerne ISD for the past 5 years. Mrs. Canales has a passion for instilling the love of learning in young children.

Mrs. Canales has been married for 24 years to her husband, Robert. They have 4 children, Jake, Kate, Ryan and Colt, who all attend Boerne ISD schools.  The Canales family enjoys spending time together outdoors at the beach, lake or swimming pool.
