The following bullet points will guide you to the start of the football season.

1. I have attached a document we put together outlining the required forms that must be completed and submitted for athletes to participate.  These may be completed between now and the start of school. Note he must be registered in school and have a student ID# to complete the online portion of the forms.  The UIL Preparticipation Physical may be printed and filled out by a doctor. An athlete will not be allowed to participate until a Physical is turned in but they are expected to be present during the athletic period and after school practice. Please make a copy of the athlete’s completed physical for your records.
2. 8th grade practices during the period on A Days and after school (4-5:30 pm) on B Days. No practice on Friday.  Games on Tuesday evenings starting at 5 pm. 
3. 7^th grade practices during the period on B days and after school (4-5:30 pm) on A days. No practice on Friday. Games on Tuesday evenings starting at 5 pm.
4. Practice will be only during the period at the beginning of school. Those practices will be counted toward the 5 days of UIL acclimatization.  We work our way up to full pads by the end of the 5 days.  Note: Afterschool practice will begin Aug. 16^th.
5. Athletes must provide their own cleats. I recommend a cleat good for grass. Please purchase neutral colors such as black, gray, or white. School colors are such as red or navy blue (not royal blue) are approved as well. Please no neon colors or non-school colors for cleats. We provide mouth guards for all athletes.
6. Football equipment distribution day is yet to be determined. Athletic uniform can be purchased during Flight Day at Voss MS. That day is yet to be determined. Athletic shirt is $15 and athletic shorts are $10.

1. Tryouts will begin the first day of school (August 11). 7^th graders who are in athletics will tryout during their athletic period or after school if they’re in PE. 8^th graders will tryout after school the first day of school until 5:30.
2. Please wear your Voss PE or Athletic uniform and proper athletic footwear. You will need to provide your own kneepads and water bottle.
3. You must have a physical on file before tryouts.
4. Games are on Thursdays at 5:00 and 6:00 pm.

A meeting held for athlete sign up and practice information will be held on Friday August 13^th during study hall. Practice begins Monday August 16^th. Drop off athlete at 6:50 am on the football field side of the campus. Please bring your own water bottle. You must have a physical on file before practice. Meets are held on Saturday mornings. District will be held on a Wednesday afternoon.

Boys’ tryouts will be held October 27-29, during the athletic period and after school for those in athletics. PE students will tryout every day after school. Boys will play on Mondays at 5:00 and 6:00 pm.

Girls’ tryouts will be held November 1-3, during the athletic period and after school for those in athletics. PE students will tryout every day after school. Girls will play on Thursdays at 5:00 and 6:00 pm.

Physicals must be on file before you can tryout.

Tennis tryouts will be held February 27th, February 28th at 7 a.m. at Champion HS and March 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at 7:00 a.m., if needed. Students will need to be dropped off before 7:00am. Bus transport will be provided to Voss by the coaches. You must provide your own racket and proper shoes. Physicals must be on file before you can try out.
