James Staples
Hello! I'm Mr. Staples. I am the social studies department chair here at Boerne High School and I teach U.S. History and AP U.S. History. I've taught since 2006, but only arrived here at BHS in 2021. Teaching is my dream job because it allows me to share my passion for history with students. I'm a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where I studied history and linguistics. After college, I spent a year teaching English in Kazakhstan. I'm blessed to have a wonderful wife and three lovely daughters. In my free time I love reading, listening to jazz, gardening, and studying foreign languages.
I am available for conferences and tutoring most days before school, from 8:00 - 8:30am, and after school, from 4:00 - 4:30pm.
