Teacher Innovation Grants

Boerne Education Foundation Teacher Innovation Grants (TIGs) are funded to transform classroom experiences in order to develop future leaders through critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity.

 Please use the following guidelines when applying for a TIG:

• Grants should be written to describe how technology, equipment or other funding needs will be implemented to showcase fun and collaborative learning using the 4 C’s: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
• If Professional Development is required to properly implement this grant, the cost needs to be included as a line item.
• All grants are required to be tied back or support grade-appropriate TEKS.

Q: Can I apply for more than 1 grant?

A: Absolutely! Just make sure you have a separate application for each grant.

Q: Where do I find out if a vendor is on the approved vendor list?

A: Visit the BISD Purchasing Dept. page on the bisd.net website and look at the approved vendor list. Please make sure your grant request aligns with the TEKs. If you do not see a particular vendor on our approved vendor list please reach out to the Purchasing Dept. to seek advice.

Q: If a grant recipient leaves a campus or school district, can they take the grant with them?

A: No, the grant stays at the campus where the grant was awarded.

Q: What does innovation mean? 

A: Innovation is a unique teaching method that does not have to be technology-based.
