National Honor Society (NHS)

  • NHS Seal

The National Honor Society was founded with the purpose of recognizing and encouraging academic achievement. The purpose of the organization is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in individuals.

Eligible students may apply for induction starting in May each spring. Through the application process, students will submit documentation of inside and outside community service hours, teacher recommendations and a leadership essay. Students must have a GPA of 95 or above and meet the minimum number of application points to be inducted into the Champion chapter of NHS.  An induction ceremony is held each year at the beginning of October.
