House Bill 3
Early Childhood Literacy and Math Proficiencyand College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Goals
Specific requirements in the areas of early childhood include annual goals for aggregate student growth in 3rd Grade Reading and Math STAAR at or above the Meets Grade Level performance level and for students in each group evaluated under the Closing the Gaps Domain (Domain III) under the current accountability system.
Similarly, school districts shall adopt specific annual goals for five school years to reach quantifiable goals for measures of college, career, and military readiness.
During the 2019-2020 school year, district and campus leaders worked collaboratively to analyze various progress measures related to these three areas, evaluate current levels of student performance, and develop five-year goals and annual targets focused on continued growth. District goals were established and then used to set appropriate goals on each campus in alignment with attaining the overall district goals.
The Board of Trustees approved these student outcome goals on November 16. 2020. These goals will be embedded within the District Improvement Plan and Campus Improvement Plans as a focus for continued growth in these areas. In compliance with House Bill 3 requirements, the goals are posted below.
In addition to these student outcome goals, Boerne ISD identified multiple progress measures that are predictive of the District's goals in early childhood literacy proficiency, early childhood mathematics proficiency, and college, career, and military readiness (CCMR). Annual progress updates are presented to the Board of Trustees on the student outcome goals and progress measures. These presentations are posted below.
