Boerne ISD’s Budget Strategy & Advisory Committee has been established to address the significant financial challenges facing the district due to stagnant revenue and rising operational costs. 

The committee will work closely with BISD leadership to:

• Analyze financial data and trends
• Review key financial indicators
• Develop and provide thoughtful recommendations to the BISD Board of Trustees on strategies to meet the district’s financial needs

Through this collaboration, the committee will play an important role in helping BISD navigate these challenges and ensure the district's continued financial stability.

In compliance with Education Code 11.251, the District-wide Educational Improvement Council (DEIC) advises the Superintendent in establishing and reviewing the District’s educational goals, objectives, and major District-wide classroom instructional programs identified by the Board or its designee. The committee serves exclusively in an advisory role.  

The DEIC is chaired by the Chief Administrative Officer. The chairperson is responsible for scheduling at least three meetings per year. Additional meetings may be held at the call of the chairperson.

The committee is composed of members who represent campus-based professional staff, District-level professional staff, parents, students, businesses, and the community. At least two-thirds of the District and campus professional staff are classroom teachers. The remaining members are professional nonteaching District- and campus-level staff.

The committee includes parents of students currently enrolled within the District; community members that reside in the District; and business representatives who need not reside in nor operate businesses in the District.

The professional employees consist of representatives from each campus. Representatives are nominated by and elected from classroom teachers assigned to the campus. At least one representative shall be nominated by and elected from non-teaching professional employees assigned to each campus. At least one District-level professional staff member, other than the Superintendent, is elected by the District-level professional staff.

Representatives serve staggered two-year terms and are limited to two consecutive terms on the committee. The existence of the District-level committee does not affect the authority of the Board or its designee to appoint or establish other advisory groups or task forces to assist it in matters pertaining to District instruction.

The technology priorities of Boerne ISD came together during the District Technology Advisory Council (DTAC) meetings, district and campus leadership meetings, staff surveys and campus technology assessment walkthroughs conducted between June 2023 and November 2023 with input from our classroom teachers, students, administration, and community stakeholders. Information received from our staff surveys and meetings with district personnel were crucial in building our plan.

We have made every effort to put forth goals and objectives that are attainable in our fast-growing district and provide the best for our students and teachers. It is the district’s strongest belief that through the implementation of this technology plan for the integration of curriculum and technology, the goals of excellence in teaching, learning and effective management with the Boerne Independent School District will be further advanced.

The School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is a school board-appointed advisory group of individuals who represent different segments of the community. Texas law requires that the majority of the members must be parents who are not employed by the school district. The Boerne ISD SHAC is made up of parents, community members, school staff, and students working together to improve the health and wellness of students through  coordinated school health programs. SHACs provide recommendations specific to changes and/or additions to the school's health education curriculum or instruction that impact the entire school district.
