1. December Backpay Paycheck
   This payment includes retroactive salary and stipend adjustments plus the district’s benefits contribution (if you participate in TRS-ActiveCare) from the first day of your contract through November 2025.
2. December Regular Paycheck
   This check reflects your updated salary, including special education stipends and the district benefits contribution, if applicable, going forward.

Each full-time employee’s situation is unique. Factors such as degrees, years of experience, and eligibility for stipends influence salaries. The implementation of the new salary structure took all of these factors into account when calculating each employee’s updated salary.

The successful VATRE provides $500,000 to be allocated towards employee benefits. Employees who elect TRS ActiveCare medical benefits through the district received an increase of $38/month at the start of the 2025–26 school year. Refer to your compensation statement for more information.

For nurses, teachers, librarians, and instructional coaches, years of service are calculated based on years completed. For example, a first-year teacher has 0 years of service, while a teacher in their 15th year has 14 years of service.

Overtime worked by hourly employees between July and November 2025 will be recalculated using the new hourly rate. Any resulting overtime backpay will be included in the January paycheck.

Two checks were issued in December. Federal income tax was primarily withheld from the regular December paycheck; some employees saw minimal or no income tax withheld from their December backpay check. Federal tax law determines how taxes are withheld. Future "Regular" paychecks will not experience the additional withholding.

You can compare the "Gross Pay" in November to the "Gross Pay" in December's "Regular Pay" check, indicating the new rate of pay applied.
