Ms. Krista Nail

Krista Nail is excited to be a part of the Boerne ISD family as the principal at Cibolo Creek Elementary.  With over 24 years in education, Ms. Nail’s passion is creating a collaborative community where students, families, and educators come together to create an environment that is encouraging, enriching, and engaging. 

 

Ms. Nail graduated from Chapman University in Orange, California with a BA in Psychology.  After moving to Texas, she continued her studies at the University of Texas San Antonio earning an MA in Counseling, followed by an MEd in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Austin, TX.  In addition to serving as principal, Ms. Nail has served as an early childhood specialist, teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal.

 

Ms. Nail is an Advocacy Fellow with Raise Your Hand Texas and also serves as a mentor for a Charles Butt Scholar.  She is a cohort member of the Raising Family Partnerships Harvard Graduate School of Education, and continues to seek opportunities to connect the school, home, and community through outreach, dialogue, and activities.

 

When not with her school family, Ms. Nail enjoys sharing time with her fiancé, Scott and her 18-year-old son, Eric.  Together they love traveling to new cities, daytrips, entertaining friends, and hiking.

Mrs. Elena Hillje

Mrs. Hillje is entering her 14th year in education.  She joined Cibolo Creek Elementary full time after having served as an itinerant assistant principal for Kendall and Cibolo Creek Elementary schools in 2017.  Prior to joining Boerne ISD, Mrs. Hillje was an elementary dual language teacher in Alvin ISD and most recently an instructional coach in North East ISD.  Mrs. Hillje holds a Master of Educational Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas.  She is currently working on her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Lamar University.  Mrs. Hillje and her husband, Mark, have two children, Matthew, a senior at Texas State and Cristina a junior at UIW.  In her spare time Mrs. Hillje enjoys spending time with her family.

Mrs. Nelda Zuniga

Mrs. Zuniga is beginning her 1st year at CCCES and her 3rd year as a school counselor.   Mrs. Zuniga graduated from Med-High in Mercedes, Texas and went on to graduate from the University of Texas-Pan American with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.  She spent 10 years teaching 1st grade in both the Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio.  In 2015, Mrs. Zuniga pursued her goal of being a school counselor and graduated from the University of Texas-San Antonio with her Masters in School Counseling. 
 
Mrs. Zuniga enjoys counseling children and using different methods to engage in conversation with children.  She is currently pursuing her certification to be a play therapist. 
 
Mrs. Zuniga has been married to her husband, Art, for 9 years.  They have 2 children, Olivia who is 5 years old and Noah who is 1 year old.  She also has a fur-family member, a dog named Harley who is 9 years old.
