Mrs. Janna Clements

    Janna Clements is in her fourth year of teaching! She began her teaching career in Bryan ISD after graduating from Texas A&M University at College Station with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Philosophy. She and her husband, Tyler, are both educators and are originally from San Antonio, Texas. Janna was awarded Rookie Teacher of the Year for her campus during the 2016-2017 school year and was also highlighted as a Teacher Spotlight May 2018 Winner for Boerne Middle School South. In addition, she is the co-sponsor of the Voss Middle School Student Council. Being an avid reader and lover of history, Janna loves having the opportunity to share her passion of social studies with her students on a daily basis. She is a 21st century educator who incorporates technology into her instruction in order to give her students the opportunity to discover their own learning in relevant and effective ways. 

     When she is not teaching in the classroom, Janna enjoys cheering on her students at their extracurricular events, such as sport games, concerts, and plays. She also works within the community with Boerne YoungLife! She finds great joy in getting to support, teach, and impact young people and feels blessed to be a teacher in such an amazing community as Boerne, Texas!

6th Grade Pre-AP World Cultures

  • In 6th Grade Pre-AP World Cultures, studies people, places and societies of the contemporary world, as well as the influence of individuals and groups on historical and contemporary events within those societies. The societies studied represent different levels of development, religions, and governmental, economic, and education systems. Applying limited government and the U.S. free enterprise system as a frame of reference, students describe the nature of citizenship in various societies. Using primary and secondary sources, students develop social studies skills in acquiring information and utilizing critical thinking skills to understand current geographic, historical, economic, political, and cultural and technological issues and concept. Students achieve a greater depth of understanding through thoughtful discussion and reading. Thee course is designed to equip students with the conceptual understanding and critical thinking needed in preparation for high school Advanced Placement courses.

7th Grade Pre-AP Texas History

  • In 7th Grade Pre-AP Texas History, Texas History is the study of the history of Texas from prehistory to the present. Historical content is integrated with the study of geography, economics, government, citizenship, culture, science, technology, and society, as well as social studies skills. Students achieve a greater depth of understanding through thoughtful discuss and reading and an emphasis on writing and analytical skills. Students use primary and secondary sources to acquire information about Texas. The course is designed to equip students with conceptual understanding and critical thinking needed in preparation for high school Advanced Placement courses.
