Ms. Krista Lux

Ms. Lux has worked in Education for 25 years.  She started at Boerne High School this year as an English Language Arts Reading teacher along with becoming the head BHS Cheerleading Advisor/Coach.  Most recently she taught three years at Boerne Middle School North teaching both English and reading in 6th and 7th grade and prior to that was a 5th grade ELAR teacher for 16 years.  During her time at BMSN she was the UIL Coach for Ready Writing and Editorial writing and is currently still one of the co-presidents of BCTA (Boerne Classroom Teachers Association).  Ms. Lux is a 21st Century educator with experience and success in teaching a diverse population of students including both English Language Learners and students with dyslexia.  She is involved in all areas of education, including curriculum development, technology integration, cooperative learning strategies and the integration of SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) within her classes.  Ms. Lux is highly qualified in the areas of English Language Arts and in English as a Second Language including holding certifications in both elementary and middle school in all curriculum areas.  She has taught students as early as first grade up to eighth graders.  She has strong leadership skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills enabling her to be an effective leader in and out of the classroom  Ms. Lux believes that the integration of technology in the classroom is a necessary tool that both teachers and students can use to better their learning experience.  She incorporates new and emerging technologies into traditional learning on a daily basis.  Ms. Lux's passion is to help all students become better readers and writers and foster a true love of reading within her students.
