Mrs. Krista Bopp

Mrs. Bopp (formerly Ms. Krista Lux) has worked in Education for 29 years.  She started at Boerne High School in 2018 as an English Language Arts Reading teacher.  Most recently she taught three years at Boerne Middle School North, teaching both English and reading in 6th and 7th grade and, prior to that, was a 5th grade ELAR teacher for 16 years at Fabra Elementary.  During her time at BMSN she was the UIL Coach for Ready Writing and Editorial writing.  Mrs. Bopp is a 21st Century educator with experience and success in teaching a diverse population of students, including both English Language Learners and students with dyslexia.  She is involved in all areas of education, including curriculum development, technology integration, cooperative learning strategies and the integration of SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) within her classes.  Mrs. Bopp is highly qualified in the areas of English Language Arts and in English as a Second Language, including holding certifications in both elementary and middle school in all curriculum areas.  She has taught students ranging in ages from 1st grade - 12th grade.  She has strong leadership skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling her to be an effective leader in and out of the classroom.  Mrs. Bopp believes that the integration of technology in the classroom is a necessary tool that both teachers and students can use to better their learning experience.  She incorporates new and emerging technologies into traditional learning on a daily basis.  Mrs. Bopp's passion is to help all students become better readers and writers and foster a true love of reading within her students.  Currently, she is working on her Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling at Lamar University and plans to graduate in May 2023.  This will be her final year in education and she looks forward to making it her best ever.  Mrs. Bopp and her husband live out in the Comfort area and have four daughters; Tori (22), Marissa (18) attending Tarleton, Tana (17) Senior at BHS, and Lauren (15) a Sophomore at FHS.
