Ms. Alma McFarland
Ms. McFarland joined Boerne ISD in 2013. She graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration from Texas A&M and earned her Master's in Educational Administration from Lamar University. Ms. McFarland was inspired to go into education after working as a substitute during her senior year of college. She began her teaching career in 1995 and has taught at several Texas school districts. Her previous assignments include 1st through 5th grade classroom teacher, Bilingual Instructional Specialist, ESL Specialist, and Spanish Teacher. Ms. McFarland previously taught 4th grade Dual Language at Curington and was named 2016 Teacher of the Year at CES.
Ms. McFarland enjoys her current role as Elementary Math Interventionist and loves helping everyone become better mathematicians. She provides mathematics support and leadership to students and teachers in Kinder through Grade 5. Ms. McFarland strives to have all students achieve a conceptual understanding of math so they will become flexible problem solvers and proficient with math skills. As an employee and parent (proud Mom of Matthew, BHS-Class of 2020 and a freshman at Texas A&M), Ms. McFarland loves the friendly and supportive staff in Boerne as well as the amazing students and families that she serves. She is proud to call Boerne home and be a part of Boerne ISD!
