Ms. Tracy Thompson
Tracy Thompson is passionate about helping children with special needs. Ms. Thompson has taught in the school setting for 19 years. She is starting her fourth year at BMSN and her eighth in the district. She has also worked in homes providing behavioral health services to families for three years. She has a strong belief that in order to help a child with special needs she has to help the adults around that child as well. Ms. Thompson has taught in Texas, North Carolina, and New Jersey. She has taught in inclusive classrooms and self-contained units. At BMSN, Ms. Thompson teaches reading to 6th and 8th graders and English to 7th graders.
Ms. Thompson grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and graduated from Los Fresnos High School. After high school, she spent a year abroad going to college in London. She graduated from Southwestern University with a Bachelors of Arts in Business. After trying out business, she decided to follow her passion and teach. She completd the alternative teaching program through Region 20. After that, she earned her Masters of Education in Specialized Education Services from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Ms. Thompson has a deep love of learning new things. She has taken many classes beyond her masters to learn new skills in hopes of becoming a more effective teacher.
Ms. Thompson has lived in Boerne for 13 years. She and her husband of 23 years have two daughters and one granddaughter. Ms. Thompson loves living in the community of Boerne.
