Degrees and Certifications:
Araceli Lovett has taught various grade levels and subjects for the past 20 years. She has a Master of Arts degree in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She also has certifications as a Bilingual Reading Specialist and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Mrs. Lovett has served BISD for the past eight years as a 3rd-grade dual language teacher and is currently the district bilingual dyslexia specialist.
Mrs. Lovett began teaching as a result of an incident during childhood when her grandfather bought the wrong product because he couldn't read the English language. This drove her desire to teach others to read in two languages and pursue her master's degree in that area.
Teaching in BISD has been a wonderful opportunity to grow professionally and help students who are learning to read in two languages with the added challenge of dyslexia.
