Mr. John Tucker
Mr. Tucker is beginning his 22nd year of public education in Texas. His fourth year as the middle school choir director for Boerne ISD - teaching at both North and South campuses. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Hardin-Simmons University and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His experiences have led him to teach Grades 6-12 at various districts across the state. As a choral educator, Mr. Tucker has many years preparing students for both individual and group competitions and concerts. Under his direction, choirs have consistently earned Excellent or Superior Ratings at UIL and other choral competitions. He loves for students to experience the beauty of choral music in a variety of settings. Due to his passion for the choral arts, numerous former students have dedicated their lives to being choral music educators as well. He is a member of TMEA (Texas Music Educators Assoc), TCDA (Texas Choral Directors Assoc) and TMAA (Texas Music Adjudicators Assoc). Mr. Tucker is frequently invited to judge choral contests and festivals around the state. In addition to his work in schools, Mr. Tucker also serves as a church music director; Currently serving at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, where he directs his parents in the Chancel Choir.
He is the proud father to two beautiful daughters as well as two, four-legged furry girls.
