A native of Three Rivers, TX, Kevin Arnott received his Associates in Arts from Del Mar College, his Bachelors of Music from Sul Ross State University, and his Masters of Educational Administration from Lamar University. He began his teaching career in Orange Grove, TX in 1983 as the district’s only Band Director. His career has also included positions as the elementary music teacher at Athens Elementary in the South San Antonio I.S.D., the assistant Band Director at Smithson Valley H.S., the Director of Bands at Marble Falls H.S., and the Head Band Director positions at Boerne Middle School, Boerne High School, and Boerne-Samuel V. Champion High School.
Kevin is in his 23rd year of teaching in the Boerne I.S.D. and his 29th year of teaching in the state. This is his 26th year of teaching as a High School Head Band Director. His high school bands have earned multiple trips to the U.I.L. Area Marching Contest and have earned a berth in the Texas State Marching Band Contest three times. They have advanced to the Area Competition in the T.M.E.A. State Honor Band competition on numerous occasions and have advanced to the State level twice. They are consistent winners of the Judson, Roosevelt, and Harlandale Marching Competitions. His bands have earned the U.I.L. Sweepstakes title by earning Division Ones in the U.I.L. Marching, Concert, and Sightreading Contests for the past 25 years. While at Marble Falls H.S., his bands earned the first Sweepstakes title in the history of the school.
Kevin is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity, the Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association. In addition to his busy band schedule, he judges band events extensively throughout the state. He lives in Boerne with his wife, Shary, and their two children, Charles and Nicole.
