Beth Miller is the Principal of Herff Elementary after serving as the Assistant Principal since the school’s launch in 2019. Mrs. Miller has been a school administrator for over a decade. Prior to moving to BISD in 2016, she was the Principal of North County Charter Elementary School in Vero Beach, Florida. As one of the top-performing schools in the state and consistently recognized for academic excellence, Mrs. Miller was regarded as a thought leader in student-centered, innovative cultural development.
Upon relocating to Boerne, Mrs. Miller served as Assistant Principal at Cibolo Creek Elementary. She also served as the Head of School at Crestmont Christian Preparatory School in 2018-2019 before returning to BISD to open the Herff campus in 2019. In 2020, she was awarded Assistant Principal of the Year for Region 20.
Mrs. Miller holds her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida and her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. She lives in Fair Oaks Ranch with her husband Kevin, a marketing executive in leadership development. Her older son Kyle plays college soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler and her younger son, Kamden, attends Boerne Champion High School where he plays football. The Miller family enjoys all things outdoors including mountain biking, hiking, surfing, and camping.

Katie Miller is in her tenth year in education, and has been the Assistant Principal at Dr. Ferdinand L. Herff Elementary School since July 2021. She has previously taught 1st, 2nd, and 6th grade in Fredericksburg ISD and served as a Math Interventionist and taught 4th grade in Boerne ISD. Mrs. Miller graduated from Schreiner University with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6 and also holds a Masters Degree in Education with Principal Certification. She holds certifications in GT, English as a Second Language, and Special Education in addition to being able to teach Early Childhood-8th grade.
In addition to her time in education, Mrs. Miller spent three years working as the Executive Camp Director at Hermann Sons Life Camp in Comfort, TX.
Mrs. Miller is married to her husband, Hunter, who is also a teacher. He is the Challenge Lab and S.T.E.M. Teacher at Tally Elementary in Kerrville ISD. He is a proud Boerne ISD graduate and they are so thankful to call Boerne home. When they are not at school, the Millers enjoy watching college football, NASCAR, spending time with family, and spoiling their dog, Maya.
Mrs. Miller believes that every child can reach their highest potential with encouragement and support. She is devoted to building relationships with students, their families, and the amazing Herff staff. She cannot wait to see what all the Herff Hawks will accomplish this school year!

Cassie Keel is thrilled to serve as our school counselor this year. Cassie is entering her 8th year in education. Cassie has six years of teaching experience at the elementary level and had the privilege of serving as a counseling assistant in Boerne ISD last school year. Cassie received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and her master’s degree from Lamar University. Creating and building relationships with kids is Cassie’s favorite part of being in education. Cassie believes in educating the whole child and works to foster a philosophy that supports the importance of social and emotional development in addition to academic development in order to help students reach their full potential. She is eager to get to know the students and families at HES!
Cassie has been married to her husband Ryan for nine years. Together, they have two children, Collins, who is a kindergartener at Herff, and Beckett. She enjoys college football (Gig ‘em, Aggies!), working out, all the Hill Country has to offer and spending time with her family.

Instructional Coach
Stephanie Edmondson
Mrs. Stephanie Edmondson serves Dr. Ferdinand Herff Elementary as the campus Instructional Coach. She is committed to building a trusting relationship with Herff teachers that allows for rigorous conversation, reflection, and inquiry around instructional practices. Passionate about the art of teaching, she loves supporting teachers in their quest to create new and innovative learning opportunities that impact every student at Herff Elementary.
Mrs. Edmondson is entering her 15th year in Boerne ISD. Many of these years were spent teaching 3rd Grade at Curington Elementary before opening up Herff Elementary in 2019. In fact, Mrs. Edmondson was voted Herff Elementary’s inaugural Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Edmondson earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a specialized minor in Reading from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. She is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
Mrs. Edmondson enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, cheering on her daughters in volleyball or cross county, reading, gardening with drought-tolerant plants, or volunteering to support her community. As Texas Hill Country natives, The Edmondsons are dedicated to RV’ing across the Lone Star State with the goal of checking off every Texas State Park soon.

Campus Behavior Coordinator

Under the requirements of Senate Bill 107, 84th legislature, TEC 37.0012, each campus must have a staff member designated as the Campus Behavior Coordinator. As a District of Innovation, BISD has opted to designate each administrator as a campus behavior coordinator.
