Mrs. Heather Salinas

Mrs. Salinas is excited to start her fourth year at Boerne High School! She previously wrote copy for a weekly newspaper and later joined an in-house advertising agency as a Lead Writer/Graphic Designer. Most recently Mrs. Salinas was an adjunct professor at Alvin Community College teaching writing and public speaking. She holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Southwestern University, a master's degree in journalism from Quinnipiac University, and a master's certificate in leadership: diversity and inclusion from Cornell University. She also played four years of college basketball while at Southwestern University. Go Pirates!

In her free time, Mrs. Salinas enjoys hiking, camping, playing basketball, reading and spending time with her husband, Chris, and their four children: Savannah, Slade, Crew and Cage. Mrs. Salinas is thrilled to have the opportunity to teach so many talented and interesting students at Boerne High.

Mrs. Salinas teaches English I Honors, AP Seminar, and is the yearbook adviser. She also serves as the campus webmaster and is an AP Reader for AP Seminar. In 2021 Mrs. Salinas was chosen as the campus Teacher of the Year.
