Mrs. Kristabel Mejia
Kristabel Mejia is excited to be starting her 2nd year at Curington Elementary as the Gifted and Talented Facilitator and Challenge Lab teacher. Kristabel earned her EC-6 degree with Bilingual Certification from Texas A&M-San Antonio in May 2017, Dyslexia Certification during the summer of Covid-19, and her GT Certification the week of Snovid-21.
Kristabel's passion for teaching and her main priority is to build strong relationships with each child. Her goal is to be a positive influence and empower each student to reach for the limits and achieve their highest potential. She strives to learn each students individual way of learning in order to adapt to their abilities, strengths and weaknesses.
She was born in Saltillo, Coah., Mexico, but was raised in Boerne, Texas since she was 3 years old. She has been a resident of Boerne for 35 years, and enjoys her "small city" living with her husband Adan, and children (Lily, Gracie, and Anthony). Kristabel is also "mommy" to 4 dogs: Jasper, Capulina, Gansito, and Fidu, 3 cats: Gato, China, and Asia, and just recently "grandmommy" to 2 bearded dragons: Rango (Gracie's baby) & Rex (Anthony's and class pet), and Becky Beckerson the Chameleon (Lily's baby). Yes, it's a zoo at home!!!!!!
She loves her Curington family and is happy that her own children have now joined the Cougar family, as she did when she was in Curington Elementary. Gracie in 3rd grade, Anthony in Pre-k, and Lily is a 7th grader in BMSS. While she is a proud Boerne Greyhound, she has a place in her heart for the Champion Chargers. A home divided, due to her daughter's wishes to be a Champion Charger. Always....Boerne strong, and Boerne proud!!!
