Mrs. Kristabel Mejia
This year is Mrs. Mejia's first year of teaching. She kicked off the year as a TA at Kendall Elementary, but right before school started she was transferred to Fabra as the 5th grade E-Learning Dual Language teacher. As the 2nd semester started, she was then transferred to Curington to take on the Challenge Lab. Mrs. Mejia is now teaching 1st grade to 5th grade GT Challenge Lab and absolultey loves what she is doing. Mrs. Mejia is reliving her childhood experience, as she started elementary school at Fabra, but was then transferred to Curington Elementary.
Mrs. Mejia graduated from Texas A&M San Antonio in 2017 with an EC-6 Generalist degree with Bilingual certification. She obtained her Dyslexia certification in the summer of 2020. Mrs. Mejia is a Boerne graduate, class of 2001. She is a mother of 3; Lily, Gracie, and Anthony. While she is a Greyhound at heart, she has a home divided and supports her daughter's love for the Champion Chargers. Her heart is partial to Champion High, as she knew and loved the beloved Mr. Sam Champion.
With all the changes that Mrs. Mejia has had to encounter this year, one thing remains consistent.....her love and passion for teaching. Reaching each child on an educational level, and being able to create special bonds with each student individually is her main priority. As the year started, she understood that her students were not in a school setting, but her main duty was to reach each child and help them grow. From day one, she told each student to "Bloom where you are planted", whether that is at school, or home.....growth is always a possiblity!!!
