Mrs. Mónica D. Alderete

Mónica is starting her 22nd year in the bilingual education field. She has taught most elementary grades, including PreK, Kinder, 1st, 2nd, 4th & 5th. She was born and raised in Brownsville and graduated from The University of Texas-Brownsville with a degree in Spanish and Bilingual Education. She moved to San Antonio in 2002, and taught there throughout most of her career. She has earned her Master's Degree in Education Administration.  Her passion is meeting new students every year and is excited to be a part of your child’s first year of school.  Mónica also works for Gold's Gym part-time, where she teaches group fitness classes. 

Mónica has two children. Víctor was born in Brownsville and is currently studying in San Antonio.  Aurora was born in San Antonio and is currently studying in New Mexico.  Mónica and her husband enjoy weekends on the lake, or simply relaxing at home with their three dogs.  The Alderetes also enjoy hosting cookouts for friends and family.
