Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Valerie Roachell

After earning a degree in Chemistry, I worked for 5 years as an analytical chemist in the toxicology field exposing me to many areas of scientific application and research.  While I enjoyed my time at the lab, I eventually grew restless of glassware, machines, and animals and wanted to share my love for science and the scientific process with others.  Teaching was a natural fit.  I obtained my Teaching Certification in Secondary Science and, since then, have had the opportunity to teach a variety of science disciplines at both the middle school and high school level.  This will be my 10th year in the classroom and my 2nd year as a Chemistry teacher for Boerne High School.

My husband and I, with our 2 children, moved to Boerne 13 years ago.  My son is now a senior at B.H.S. and my daughter is a junior at Baylor University (Sic 'Em, Bears). I am blessed to be married to a man, who also loves science and spends time doing field research in the TX Hill Country.  As a family we enjoy hiking, swimming - lake or ocean, lazing around outdoors, autos - rugged or fast, and Baylor football games.
