Kara Rickman has been an educator for 24 years. She has taught 3rd Grade, Title 1, and 1st Grade. She currently teaches first grade at Fabra Elementary and has been there since 2006. Kara is a 1995 Boerne High School graduate. She attended Texas State University for her bachelors and master's degree in Education. Kara has given many workshops and trainings to K-2 teachers in BISD. She was chosen to be Teacher of the Year in 2009 for Fabra Elementary. Kara is very active in the community where she plays flute in the Boerne Concert Band and gives concerts to the public for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Veteran's Day, and Christmas.
