The Kendall County Fair Association's KC's Kids Program, in conjunction with gracious sponsors and heartwarming volunteers, makes it possible for ALL children to enjoy the fun of the fair! It's not just any fair but one that is designed and orchestrated exclusively for children with special needs by the KCFA.
On Friday, August 30th, students from Curington Elementary School were treated to some good ol’ rodeo and fair fun! These children were all paired up with a 4H member(child) and were able to watch a rodeo performance in the arena, go out and rope dummies and pet the horses and a pony, use the petting zoo, sensory tables, lumberjack show, meet KC the cowboy, facepaint, and have a blast on carnival rides. Each child was given a free t-shirt and a hot dog lunch.
According to the KCFA, “the objective of the program is to enhance the knowledge and appreciation of agricultural endeavors by enabling these special needs kids to enjoy and participate in functions associated with agriculture and the county fair.”
A special thank you to KCFA and volunteers for the many smiles, laughs, and moments of pure joy at the Kendall County Fair! Our Curington kids will always remember this special experience!
