District Announces New Chief Instructional Officer

 

Larissa BOERNE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF INSTRUCTIONAL OFFICER

Larissa S. Flores joins Boerne ISD from the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD 

Boerne, TX- The Boerne Independent School District Board Introduced the newest member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet Monday at a Special Called Board Meeting. Larissa S. Flores was introduced to each BISD Trustee and said she is looking forward to beginning at the district. 

Flores has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master’s in Educational Administration both from The University of Texas-Pan American (now UT-Rio Grande Valley) in Edinburg, TX.  She has been an educator for 17 years all spent in the Pharr-San-Juan-Alamo ISD in San Juan, Texas. 

She is the youngest of three children and grew up on her family’s ranch in South Texas.  Her upbringing is where she learned to have a strong work ethic and knows the importance of building relationships.

She began teaching Journalism at PSJA High School in 2002, was promoted to Assistant Principal of PSJA High in 2007, and was named the Principal of Ballew High School in 2012.  Under her leadership, Ballew High School became an Early College High School. Most recently, she was the Principal at Stephen F. Austin Middle School.

Larissa is married to Azael “AZ” Flores, a longtime resident of Boerne, and she has a 15-year old son named Ryan. She is now a full-time resident of Boerne.
