April 27, 2020- Boerne ISD has formed a committee to explore ways to safely hold commencement ceremonies for both Champion High School and Boerne High School, currently scheduled for May 21st and 22nd respectively (Subject to change based on COVID-19).
We will be receiving guidelines from the Texas Education Agency, and are working with local officials from Kendall County and the city of Boerne. As of this point, the TEA has not issued guidelines for in-person graduation ceremonies.
Boerne ISD will need to continue to comply with state and local guidelines regarding public gatherings, which may include a limit of attendees, as well as performing social distancing. We are exploring many options, including in-person and virtual ceremonies. As always, our number one priority is the safety of our students and families.
Once we have more information, including the dates, times and locations of possible ceremonies, we will inform the BISD community. We look forward to honoring the class of 2020! Thank you for your patience.
