“We are humbled and honored to be named the Best Small School District in Texas,” Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price said. “We are a reflection of our community. We live in the best community, which helps us to be the best school district,” Price said.

In the nearly year-long competition, Boerne ISD submitted an in-depth application, and had campus visits by the HEB judges, culminating with the announcement at Tuesday’s “Toast to Texas Teachers” event hosted by HEB. The other finalists in Boerne’s category were Fabens ISD (Fabens, TX) and George West ISD (George West, TX).

“Thank you to the HEB, the judges and to everyone involved for this honor. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. We are extremely grateful to earn this title,” Price said. “To earn an award of this magnitude is a team and community effort,” Price continued. “We are grateful to our Board of Trustees, principals, teachers, staff, students, parents, business partners and the community. We couldn't have done this without each and everyone of you,” Price stated.

Boerne ISD serves over 9,600 students on 12 campuses in all of Kendall County and a part of Bexar county, and employs over 1,000 staff members.
