Boerne ISD Names New BHS Principal

Wilson BHS May 12, 2020- Boerne ISD has announced that current Boerne High School Assistant Principal Shane Wilson has been named the Greyhound’s new Principal effective immediately. Wilson’s appointment was approved by the Board of Trustees at the Special Meeting/Budget Workshop on May 11th.

An educator for over 20 years, Mr. Wilson has served as Boerne High School’s Assistant Principal since August 2016. In this role Wilson has established and built relationships through classroom learning walks, coaching, and feedback with teachers to enhance best practices for student learning, as well as collaborated with staff and administrative team on school improvement and intervention plans, such as leadership meetings, PLC Meetings and counselor meetings. 

Prior to coming to Boerne ISD, Wilson was Assistant Principal for three years at Southwest High School from 2013-2016, a Biology, Speech and Physical Education Teacher at Warren High School from 2007-2013, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Pearsall ISD for two years (2005-2007), as well as a teacher and coach at Rowlett High School (2001-2005) and Uvalde High School and Middle School (1998-2001). 

Mr. Wilson and his wife Emily, a counselor at Boerne Middle School South, reside in Boerne. Their two daughters Reese and Taylor will both be enrolled at BHS in the fall.
