Boerne ISD Announces Important Graduation Updates

Graduation Update May 14, 2020

Dear Boerne ISD senior families,

Our graduation committee has been working on details to safely hold commencement ceremonies following guidelines from the Texas Education Agency, the Governor’s office, as well as the Kendall County Emergency Management Office, and the cities of Boerne and Fair Oaks Ranch.

Here are some important updates regarding graduation for Champion High School (June 4th) and Boerne High School (June 5th). Please contact your school should you have any questions or need additional information.

-To follow safety protocols, there will be no graduation rehearsal

-Both ceremonies will be held at Boerne ISD Stadium at 8 pm.

-Each graduate will receive five tickets

-Students do not need tickets to attend the ceremony. The tickets are for guests of the graduates. **All guests must have a ticket

-Graduation ticket pick up will be held on Monday, June 1st at both CHS and BHS from 9am-12pm.

-The student must be present to pick up the ticket packet on June 1st

-Students may only pick up their own ticket packet, and may not pick up another student’s packet

-To enter the stadium you must have the original ticket. No electronic or photo version of the ticket will be permitted.

-Wearing your own mask or face covering is highly recommended for all graduates and guests attending the ceremony.

-Masks are required for graduates and guests when not seated in their assigned seats.  Once seated, masks are not required but are recommended.

-Seating will begin at 7 pm, and per the TEA, everyone entering the stadium will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19: A ticket and completed COVID-19 screening questionnaire are required in order to enter the stadium. The COVID-19 questionnaire will be in each graduate's ticket packet that will be picked up on June 1st.

The symptoms of COVID-19 are:

-Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

-Chills

-Repeated shaking with chills

-Nurses will be at each stadium entrance and will be equipped with thermometers and prepared to take temperatures.

-Families are required to sit in their assigned locations throughout the ceremony. Seats will be assigned to families in order to comply with social distancing guidelines mandating six feet of separation between families. Seating will be determined by a random draw with each ticket indicating the location of the assigned seats.

-Per the Kendall County Emergency Management Office, wearing masks or face coverings will be required while moving to and from an assigned seat. Once you are in your seat a mask is not required but recommended. Please bring your own mask or face covering.

-For families that have someone in need of assistance, one person will be permitted to sit in the handicapped accessible area with that family member

-Both the CHS and BHS ceremonies will be live-streamed online by clicking here.
