Boerne ISD Board Elects New Officers, Take Oath

2020 Board May 18, 2020- At their regular monthly meeting, the Boerne ISD Board of Trustees elected new officers for the 2020-21 school year. The board elected Maritza Gonzalez-Cooper as President, Donna Sharp as Vice-President, and Rich Sena as Secretary. In addition to electing new officers, Mrs. Sharp and Mr. Sena each took their oath of office to begin new three-year terms. 

Mrs. Gonzalez-Cooper has served on the board since 2013. Her children graduated from or currently attend Boerne ISD schools. Gonzalez-Cooper was a Biology major at The University of Texas-San Antonio. Currently, Gonzalez-Cooper is the owner/director of Artworks Art Studio. Her current term expires in 2022. 

Mrs. Sharp has been a trustee since 2014. She has served BISD as a PTO president, Boerne Sharp Education Foundation board member and president, and Board of Trustees president. All three of her children have graduated from or currently attend Boerne ISD schools. Mrs. Sharp graduated from the University of Texas-San Antonio and works for the Kendall County Criminal District Attorney's office.Her current term expires in 2023.

Mr. Sena has served on the board since 2014. He owns his own insurance agency and has two children. His daughter is a 4th-grade teacher, and his son is a sales associate at Ken Batchelor Cadillac. Sena Both of his children were educated in Boerne ISD for all 13 years of elementary and secondary education. Mr. Sena’s current term expires in 2023.
