June 15, 2020- The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees on Monday voted to adopt a budget that will lower the district's property tax rate for the second straight school year. The 2020-21 tax rate will decrease by three cents per $100 valuation, from $1.28 to $1.25. The district's tax rate has decreased a total of ten cents since 2019, from $1.35 to $1.25.
In addition, the budgeted tax rate for the 2020-21 general fund decreased by 3.4%.
On Monday the board also approved salary increases for the 2020-21 school year. Teachers, Nurses, Librarians and Counselors will receive an $840 raise (as part of the annual step), as well as 2.5% of pay grade midpoint increase for auxiliary and paraprofessional hourly employees, and 1.5% of pay grade midpoint for professional salaried employees.
