Boerne ISD Purchases Technology For Students

Operation Connectivity August 4, 2020- The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees approved the district plan to purchase 3,000 student chrome books and 1,400 Wi-Fi hot spots for Boerne ISD families. The technology purchase is a part of the Texas Education Agency’s Operation Connectivity. The total cost is over $1.1 million, with Boerne ISD spending nearly $747,000 from a previous bond on the purchases, and the TEA paying for over $361,000.

On July 30th it was confirmed by the state that Boerne ISD qualified for the purchase of the technology. The Shipment of chrome books is expected in 4-10 weeks, with the shipments of hot spots expected sooner.  The timelines for the distribution of the devices have not been finalized by the state.
