Boerne ISD's Benway Selected For Hill Country 40 Under 40 Award

Benway receives award September 2, 2020- The Boerne Independent School District has announced that Director of Communications Bryan Benway has been selected as a recipient of the First Annual Hill Country 40 Under 40 Award by the area Economic Development Corporations. This award honors individuals across all industries who are achieving excellence in innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership. Recipients must be under 40 years of age and reside in the Hill Country. 

“We are very proud that Bryan has been selected to receive this award,” said Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price. “Bryan’s hard work and dedication to our Boerne ISD community is greatly appreciated by our students, parents, teachers, and staff. We are grateful to have his leadership in our district and our community,” Dr. Price concluded.

Benway serves in BISD’s Administration as the District’s spokesperson and Co-Host of The Boerne Insider, he also oversees communications to BISD families, staff, the Boerne and Kendall County community, as well as the media, and serves as the district’s liaison to elected officials, among other duties.

“I am truly humbled to receive this recognition,” Benway said. “Thank you to Boerne ISD for continuing to have faith in me, as well as the community for their support. We have a very talented team in the Communications Department, we all work well together. We are grateful to have this opportunity to make a positive impact on our students and the BISD community,” said Benway.

The 37-year-old Benway came to Boerne ISD in March of 2020 after serving as State Representative Kyle Biedermann's District Director for three years. Before working in the Texas Legislature, he has held a variety of communications roles over the past decade, including as a Nationally Syndicated radio host, as a Broadcasting and Media Relations Director in professional hockey, and working at Schreiner University in Kerrville, among others.

Benway, his wife Danica, and stepson Phenix reside in Boerne. Phenix is an 8th grader at Boerne Middle School North.
