September 17, 2020- The Boerne Independent School District has announced that Chief Financial Officer Tish Grill will retire in December at the end of the fall 2020 semester. Grill has served in the education industry for 35 years, including the last six as BISD’s CFO.
“Words cannot express how grateful and fortunate we are to have had Tish as our CFO at Boerne ISD,” Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price said. “There is no doubt that Tish is the best CFO in the state of Texas, and truly has gone above and beyond for our community. She is a true leader and will be missed by all of us. We wish her the absolute best of luck in the future. Tish will always be a part of the Boerne ISD family,” said Dr. Price.
Grill started her career in 1986 at Burnet CISD where she served for 13 years as the Budget and Finance Director. She moved to Bandera ISD for 15 years as the Chief Financial Officer, and is currently in her sixth year as Chief Financial Officer for Boerne ISD.
“I will always have a grateful heart for the opportunity to serve our Boerne ISD community,” stated Grill. “I have grown personally and professionally in the short time I have been here. I am very proud of the achievements and success of our district. I will truly miss all the wonderful people I call family,” said Grill.
Grill has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Accounting from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Professional Accountancy from Texas A&M University-San Antonio. She is a two-time award recipient of the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society for Business and Business Administration, and holds a certification as a Registered Texas School Business Administrator.
Grill is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs, Governmental Financial Officers Association, American Institute of CPAs, Texas Association of School Business Officials, and Association of Texas Professional Educators.
Grill has been married to Richard, a school superintendent, for 35 years. They have two children, John, who is married to Megan; and Tracy, who is married to Kyle and is mother to grandsons Peyton and Lincoln.
Boerne ISD has opened a national search for its next Chief Financial Officer.
