Boerne ISD Employees to Receive COVID-19 Vaccines
In partnership with the San Antonio University Health System, the Boerne Independent School District will offer the COVID-19 vaccine to 70 employees. Eligible employees were selected to participate in the vaccine administration opportunity based on the Texas Department of Health Services phase 1B criteria. Staff members were sent personal invitations to participate. Dr. Elaine Howard, Chief Human Resources Officer who oversees the district’s COVID-19 response will coordinate scheduling and transportation to the testing location. She will continue to pursue opportunities for employees to become vaccinated. Dr. Thomas Price, Superintendent of Schools, expressed his gratitude stating, “We are especially grateful to the generosity of the University Health System and their efforts to make the vaccine available for our employees. The impact of ensuring educators and support staff who work directly to instruct, transport, and maintain facilities for our students will greatly assist us in the effort to provide a quality public education for all students.” Boerne ISD currently employs approximately 1,400 staff serving almost 9,800 students.
