Nearly 20 Boerne ISD Counselors Earn Statewide Awards

February 9, 2021- The Boerne Independent School District has announced that nearly 20 Counselors have earned statewide CREST (Counselors Reinforcing Excellence in Texas) awards from the Texas School Counselor Association. In all, 16 BISD counselors from eight different schools CREST received the CREST recognition. The awards were presented at the TSCA Conference on Monday night. 

The Boerne ISD Crest Award winners are:

The CREST Awards are in addition to Voss Counselor Denise Nipper earning Middle School Counselor of the Year, and Herff Principal Tanya Tate winning Counselor Advocate of the Year, which were previously announced by the district. 

“To have almost 20 counselors from eight different campuses earn CREST Awards is an outstanding testament to the hard work and dedication of our terrific counselors,” said Lesa Pritchard, Boerne ISD Executive Director of the Whole Child. “BISD has continued to be a leader in school counseling and we are proud of the work our counselors and staff do for our students. Each and every one of our counselors deserve this award. We are honored to be recognized.”

Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) is sponsored by the Texas School Counselor Association (TSCA) and awarded to school counseling programs that meet CREST requirements. CREST is a continuous improvement document that school counseling programs can use to demonstrate effective communication and a commitment to obtaining results.
