Herff Student Council Earns Statewide Award

Herff Stu CoMay 12, 2021- The Herff Elementary School Student Council has earned the 2020-21 Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) Student Leadership Award. They are one of just 32 student leadership teams across the state of Texas to win this award.

TEPSA established the TEPSA Student Leadership Award in 2018 to honor outstanding student leadership teams and their impact on our school communities in the state of Texas. Student leadership groups submit a rigorous application, which is judged on student leaders demonstrating how their leadership has impacted the stakeholders at their school as well as demonstrated how they served their campus and community. The application also views how campuses empower learners through leadership opportunities.

The Herff student leadership team, including Librarian Andria Burton, who serves as Student Council sponsor, will be recognized by TEPSA and receive a trophy at a Leaders ‘Я’ Us onsite workshop in the fall. The Herff Student Council members who earned this award are Averley Bruce, Jordan Guerrero, Rebekah Smith, Cailee Canaday, Addison Reidy, Trevor Peters, Eleanor Rouse, Esmee Minnick, Oliver Ortiz, Jaxson Hoever, Will Watson, Sydney Robbins, Matthew Bautista, Abigail Serna, Reagan Ratliff, Addison Graham, Zoe Lewis, Colin Cox, Presli Harrold, Sydney Curry, Michael Karageorge, and Parker Randle.
