Boerne ISD Earns Transparency Stars Award

Transparency StarJanuary 6, 2022- The Boerne Independent School District has been awarded a Transparency Star in the area of Debt Obligations by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar.

Transparency Stars recognizes local governments that provide easy online access to important financial data.

The debt obligations Transparency Star recognizes entities whose websites show visual and narrative detail on outstanding debt, tax-supported debt obligations, historical bond elections, and more.

Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price stated, “We are extremely proud to earn a Transparency Star from Comptroller Hegar. We work hard to ensure that we do our due diligence as it relates to taxpayer money, and are very careful with how we spend that money. This award ensures our taxpayers that we are always transparent with our finances and that is very important, especially with another possible bond election in the near future. ”

The Comptroller’s office launched the Transparency Stars program in March 2016 to recognize cities, counties, school districts, and special purpose districts making important strides toward greater government transparency.

“As we continue to experience record-breaking growth and student enrollment we will continue to be great stewards of taxpayer money going forward,” said Price. We have built up a lot of trust with the community and have a stellar reputation across the state as a very fiscally responsible and transparent district. We appreciate the strong support from our community.”
