December 5, 2022- The Boerne Independent School district announced it has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The certificate was awarded based on BISD’s annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
In October, BISD received a Superior Rating with an overall score of 94 in the 2021-22 Texas Education Agency Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).
The “Superior Achievement” rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of Boerne ISD’s financial management and reporting system. This is the 11th straight year Boerne ISD has achieved the Superior Rating.
