What is "open library" and when is it?

Posted by:

"Open library" is time before school for 3rd-5th grades students to use the library independently.  Students are able to use the workspaces for classroom or homework assignments, they are able to find a quiet/comfortable reading area, or they may renew or checkout library books.

"Open library" is a priviledge for our older students.  The library opens when the building opens Monday-Thursday.  The library will be closed before school on Fridays.  Students are expected to come to the library for a constructive purpose and must check in with their morning waiting area before coming to the library.

There may be days when the library is closed for meetings or events - a sign will be posted at the door to let students know.

We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to serving students in this capacity.
