2nd Champion Student Accepted to NASA Program

CHS ForksNovember 29, 2021- A second Boerne-Champion High School Junior has been accepted into the prestigious NASA Texas High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) Program. Tristan Forks joins classmate Mia Shayesteh in being accepted to the program. 

Forks is currently an AP Physics and Chemistry student at Champion. He will work collaboratively with NASA teams to solve real-world problems that NASA engineers can face such as plotting trajectories and calculating risks.

Students in the HAS program will receive Interactive lessons on NASA activities related to space exploration, Earth science, technology, and aeronautics. Students will also learn about

design challenges such as 3D drawing, video creation, and interactive poster design and have Virtual chats with NASA engineers and scientists. 

The highest achieving students in the program will participate in team projects and briefings directed by NASA engineers and scientists, experience hands-on design challenges and engineering activities planning an Artemis-themed mission, as well as receive tours of NASA facilities.
