Boerne ISD Lowers Tax Rate Again

Tax rate loweredJune 21, 2022- The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees voted to adopt a budget that will lower the district's property tax rate for the fourth straight year.

The 2022-23 tax rate is estimated to decrease by approximately three cents per $100 valuation from $1.20 to $1.17. The district's tax rate has decreased by a total of 18 cents since 2019, and is among one of the lowest school tax rates in the area.

*Note: The TEA will determine Boerne ISD's tax rate in August 2022

The Board adopted a budget that will fund three of the district’s top priorities, including the launching of PTECH (Pathway to Technology Early College High School).

Other key budget items adopted were:

*Compensation Increases, including:

*Teachers, nurses, and librarians will receive a 3.5% increase as part of the annual step equating to $2,020 more per year.

*Paraprofessional and professional employees will receive 3.5% of their new pay grade midpoint.

*Auxiliary employees were granted emergency pay during the spring in the amount of $2.00 per hour. The pay differential will become permanent to their pay for 22-23, equating to a 6.5% to 12.0% of the midpoint increase for these employees.

*Guest Teachers will also maintain the emergency pay rates implemented in the spring.

*The budget also includes five additional School Resource Officers from the Boerne and Fair Oaks Ranch Police Departments as well as the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department to strengthen safety and security measures at all Boerne ISD facilities.
