September 20, 2022- The Boerne Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to adopt a tax rate of $1.1786 for the 2022-23 school year, which is a 2.6 cent reduction from the 2021-22 school year.
The levy generated by the adopted rate will fund an adopted general fund budget of approximately $99.5M, which is an increase of $13M (15%) over the prior year.
The largest single factor in the budget increase is $5.7M as an initial estimate of recapture (Robin Hood), followed by additional teaching positions to address overall student enrollment growth and a 3.5% pay increase for employees.
BISD's tax rate has decreased by a total of nearly 18 cents over the past four years.
