March 4, 2024- The Boerne Independent School District Communications and Community Partnerships Department, as well as the Administrative Services Department, and the Boerne Education Foundation won a total of 19 statewide awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association. The awards were presented at last week’s 2024 TSPRA Conference.
The total of 19 awards includes two Best of Category gold medals. BISD also earned a district record 13 Gold Stars and four Silver Stars. The Communications Department consists of Director of Communications Bryan Benway, Multimedia Specialist Erik Armenta, and Communications Secretary Melanie Bostic, while Yvette Reyna serves as the Executive Director of the Boerne Education Foundation and Community Partnerships, and Jennifer Aviles is the Administrative Assistant to Chief Administrative Officer Dr. John O’Hare.

Each year, TSPRA has an award competition amongst school district communication professionals and education foundation executive directors across the state. There are nearly 60 different categories, such as, print publications, writing, photography, video, events, etc.
