Boerne ISD Announces 2022-23 Texas Academic Performance Report

TAPRMarch 5, 2024- The Boerne Independent School District announced the results of its 2022-23 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) as part of their Annual Report at the Boerne ISD Board of Trustees monthly meeting on February 26.

 

BISD students excelled on the STAAR exam with overall student scores above both region and state averages. There are three performance levels for each STAAR exam: Approaches Grade Level, Meets Grade Level, and Masters Grade Level. Ninety-one (91%) percent of BISD students scored at the Approaches level or above, while 72% scored at the Meets level or above, and 37% at the Masters mark. For Math, in which students in Grade 3 through Algebra 1 take the STAAR assessment, BISD students scored nearly 18% higher than the region and state averages. For Reading, in which students in Grade 3 through English 2 take the STAAR assessment, 16% of BISD students scored above the region and state averages.

 

Boerne ISD boasts a near-perfect 99% graduation rate for the class of 2021 and 2022, which is 11% higher than the Region 20 average and nearly 10% higher than the state average. In addition, BISD students rank above the region and state in College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR).  Eighty-six percent of the class of 2022 graduated college or career ready which is a 15% increase from the class of 2021.  As part of CCMR, 42% of students participated in Advanced Placement (AP) exams, with 71% of those students earning a passing score.   BISD also had a stellar 94.5% attendance rate in 2021-2022.

 

The district’s Bilingual and Emerging Bilingual students also showed great increases on their average on all STAAR exams to 68% Approaches or above, 43% were at the Meets level or above, and 21% at Masters.

 

The district is required to release its annual TAPR report as part of their Annual Report annually at a public school board meeting.
