Teacher Innovation Grants
Boerne Education Foundation Teacher Innovation Grants (TIGs) are funded to transform classroom experiences in order to develop future leaders through critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity.
Please use the following guidelines when applying for a TIG:
- Grants should be written to describe how technology, equipment or other funding needs will be implemented to showcase fun and collaborative learning using the 4 C’s: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
- If Professional Development is required to properly implement this grant, the cost needs to be included as a line item.
- All grants are required to be tied back or support grade-appropriate TEKS.
Grant applications for the 2026-2027 school year are now being accepted. Applications are to be filled out and submitted online only.

Visit the BISD Purchasing Department page on the boerneisd.net website and look at the approved vendor list. Please make sure your grant request aligns with the TEKs. If you do not see a particular vendor on our approved vendor list please reach out to the Purchasing Dept. to seek advice.

Chromebooks, laptops, standard classroom furniture (non-TEKS), devices that require wireless-only connectivity, software/subscriptions that compromise BISD safety and security, food, hotels, salaries, afterschool programs, or anything else that is not specifically for academic purposes.

If the teacher transfers to another BISD campus or leaves the district, the grant does not transfer with them. The TIG stays with the original campus where the grant was funded.

To ensure fairness, transparency, and responsible stewardship of donor funds, BEF grant awards must be used to purchase materials, resources, and services from independent third-party vendors. Grant funds may not be used for purchases that result in a personal financial benefit to the applicant or an individual affiliated with the project.
