Student Information Systems

The Public Education Information Management System) PEIMS encompasses all data requested and received by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) about public education and includes student demographics, academic performance, personnel, finance, and organizational information. The Boerne ISD PEIMS Department provides Public Education Information Management System and PID Enrollment Tracking data to the Texas Education Agency. 

Each year the PEIMS department is responsible for submitting district data to the state through various required submissions.  Much of this information and data submitted through PEIMS is used in state and federal accountability calculations and is reported through the Texas Academic Performance Reports.

The following documents are required for kindergarten registration:

• Proof of Boerne ISD Residency: To confirm your address within the Boerne Independent School District:
  • Homeowners must provide a full-page copy of a recent utility bill (Water, gas, or electric. Cell phone bills are not accepted.).
  • Renters should present a current, signed lease agreement with the parent or guardian listed as the leaseholder or occupant.
  • For unique living situations, a 'Declaration of Residency' or 'Grandparent Care Affidavit' must be completed by the parent or guardian and homeowner or leaseholder. Basic proof of residence for the homeowner or leaseholder is required.
• Parent/Guardian Identification: To ensure a secure enrollment process, we will need a current government-issued photo ID from a parent or guardian.
• Student's Immunization Record: Acceptable documents include current up-to-date immunization record or records for exemption from immunization for reason of conscience. For detailed requirements, please visit Boerne ISD's Immunization Requirements
• Student's Birth Certificate (or equivalent):  A certified copy of the student's birth certificate is required. Alternatively, a valid passport or a vital statistics document is acceptable.

RECOMMENDED:

• Student's Social Security Number: While not required, Social Security numbers are used for the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS). Students without a Social Security number will be issued a State ID for PEIMS purposes, per TEC §25.001(b)(5).

The same paperwork is required to register children after school begins or if children are transferring from a different school district.

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) program includes annual assessments for:

• Reading Language Arts and Mathematics, grades 3-8
• Science, grades 5 and 8
• Social Studies, grade 8
• End-of-Course (EOC) assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology and U.S. History

Grades 3–8 STAAR and the primary End-of-Course tests are given in the spring. Additional EOC opportunities are provided in fall and summer primarily for retesting.

STAAR Alternate 2 assesses students receiving special education in grades 3-8 and high school who have significant cognitive disabilities. The STAAR Alternate 2 assessment includes annual assessments for:

• Reading Language Arts and Mathematics, grades 3-8
• Science, grades 5 and 8
• Social Studies, grade 8
• End-of-Course (EOC) assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology and U.S. History

The Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) is an English language proficiency assessment aligned to the Texas English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS). This assessment is designed to assess the progress that emergent bilingual (EB) students make in learning the English language. TELPAS assesses students in grades K-12 in four language domains: listening, speaking, reading and writing. 

TELPAS Alternate assesses emergent bilingual (EB) students in grades 2-12 receiving special education who have significant cognitive disabilities.
