Yes. A parent/guardian may choose to have his/her child assessed by a private evaluator or other source.  

While an outside assessment may be provided to the Section 504 or ARD committee and must be considered, it does not automatically create eligibility. Instead, the committee determines eligibility based on review "of data from a variety of sources."
